I went into my Power BI assessment with one thing I didn’t have much of: confidence.
I had been praying for wisdom to understand Power BI and to know how to create the required dashboard. Under time pressure, I wondered whether I would be able to put everything together independently.
So I prayed: “Lord, give me wisdom to understand what I am doing.”
Then I began.
Instead of trying to figure everything out at once, I took it one step at a time—understanding the requirements, choosing the appropriate visuals, and building the dashboard.
And somehow, the pieces began to come together.
I completed a one-page mock-up independently, with accurate visuals and the information presented clearly. The dashboard included elements such as sales amount, net profit, quantity sold, regional profit and product-category information.
What encouraged me even more was the feedback from my trainer: my work was praised for being highly accurate, and I was the first to submit my mock-up.
I realised something.
My prayer hadn’t meant that Power BI would suddenly become easy.
Instead, perhaps God gave me the wisdom, clarity and courage to take the next step.
It reminded me of the lesson from my lost wallet:
Faith doesn’t always mean seeing the whole picture. Sometimes it means trusting God enough to take the next step.
I didn’t need to know everything. I just needed to begin. And then take another step. And another.
This experience has given me a different kind of confidence—not the confidence of knowing everything, but the confidence of knowing that I can learn.
So I am carrying this lesson forward:
Pray for wisdom.
Take the next step.
Trust God with the outcome.
