Lately, I’ve realized that studying business analysis through a faith-based lens puts me in a completely different mindset. It shifts my focus from simply learning techniques to shaping my character.
One verse that keeps coming to mind is James 1:19:
“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”
The more I study business analysis, the more I see how relevant this is. Great business analysts don’t rush to offer solutions—they listen first. They seek to understand stakeholders, uncover the real problem, and empathize with the people they serve.
Approaching my studies this way has changed how I practice. Instead of trying to have all the answers, I’m learning to ask better questions, listen with patience, and remain open to different perspectives. Even when requirements conflict or conversations become challenging, I’m reminded that wisdom often begins with listening.
For me, business analysis is becoming more than a professional skill. It’s an opportunity to grow in humility, patience, and service. Through faith, every study session becomes a chance not only to become a better analyst, but also a better listener and a more compassionate person.
